OFF-PROGRAM

OFF-PROGRAM 2010

Unplanned regular audiovisual program

More and more independent filmmakers are focused on current issues and have the capacity to respond quickly to important social and human events. The idea of this program is to provide a year-round opportunity to identify works made as a result of a filmmaker's solidarity and commitment to social issues. Where possible, the screenings are accompanied by presentations by the director or other people directly affected or involved.

Keeping in line with global tensions and the human factor, this year's Off-Program will present sessions on marginalized women and on the proliferation of homeless people in big cities, and we will invite British filmmaker Adam Curtis to present some of his reflective works, such as The Century of the Self (2002) and The Power of Nightmares (2004).
