Author visits to the exhibition
Visit the exhibition Chris Ware. Drawing Is Thinking in the company of the curator and comic-book expert Mery Cuesta or the writers Javier Pérez Andújar and Laura Fernández. We propose three author visits, each guided by a big fan of Chris Ware’s work. We’ll be exploring themes like the origin and narrative of the comic book, and Ware’s relationship with literature, architecture, the underground tradition and ragtime.
In Lateral Views, each author starts out from a personal selection of works and their own framework of reflection to offer an alternative route around the exhibition. More than illustrative or explanatory interpretations, these visits are invitations to activate the gaze and thought from the perspective of difference, conflict and plurality of perception. They propose a sensitive, critical pause, a way of inhabiting the exhibition that leaves space for the viewer’s own experience, for intuition and emotions.
