98. La literatura y la música son parte de mí / Literature and Music are Part of Me

For Julieta Venegas, books are not only a source of inspiration, they are vital. Reading and music are impossible to separate for this artist who talked to us about her creative experience within the context of the festival Primera Persona: she never knows what she will discover when starting a book, or where the tune that starts to sound in her head will take her. She affirms, without any doubt, that the process is the enjoyment and that the driving force behind creation is curiosity. Writing songs has something of autofiction about it, although it is difficult to decide where one’s own experience ends and where that of others begins. Perhaps for this reason she defends solitude, because it is the space for self-knowledge.
