Yishai Sarid

A writer, lawyer, and prominent representative of contemporary Hebrew culture, he is presently working as a lawyer and writing for the daily Haaretz. In the literary domain he has published several novels, among them The Investigation of Captain Erez (Yedioth Ahronoth, 2000) and Naomi’s Kindergarten (Am Oved, 2009). His book Limassol, an international bestseller, published by Club Editor in Catalan (2011) and Literature Random House in Spanish (2013), has been translated into eleven languages and has won several prizes including the Grand Prix de la Littérature Policière in France. In 2011 he published The Third (Am Oved, 2015), a much-acclaimed novel that has been widely discussed in Israel because of its poetic, transparent dialogue with earlier Hebrew literature. Indeed, the book received the 2016 Bernstein literary award for this very reason. He has recently published El monstre de la memòria (2020), about the banalization of the memory of the Holocaust, published by Club Editor (Catalan) and Sigilo (Spanish).
