Wekaforé
Musician, cultural manager and designer
The versatile artist formerly known as Egosex and Spirit Disco has embarked on a new artistic stage in which he has adopted his birth name, Wekaforé, and has launched a much-awaited musical project, Alma Fetish, in which he undertakes an exploration of the soul’s deepest pleasures.
Born in the city of Lagos, Nigeria, Wekaforé, who comes from and was raised in a family of artisans, spent part of his adolescence in the Middle East before arriving in Spain seven years ago to study fashion designing. He soon became a regular in the Barcelona cultural scene and a prominent night-life figure at parties and in audiovisual projects of the Voodoo Club, which led him to create a community of likeminded people who would join a project of open and modern philosophy.
He has created a circular vision that employs universality in all his works, adopting influences from music, design, art, fashion, and cinema within a genre that he has called "Surrealisme Postmodern".
Wekaforé has embarked on a career in cinema with his musical score for Rainbow, the new film by Paco León.
