Verònica Benet

ICREA Research Professor in the Department of Political and Social Sciences at the Pompeu Fabra University

After obtaining a PhD in Psychology from the University of California, Davis, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California, Berkeley in the Institute for Personality and Social Research. She has been a lecturer at the University of Michigan (1998-2002) and at the University of California, Riverside (2003 – 2010), where she founded and directed the Culture and Personality Laboratory. Since 2010 she has been ICREA Research Professor at the Pompeu Fabra University where she is head of the research group BESS (Behavioral and Experimental Social Sciences). Her research is concerned with multicultural and bicultural identity, intersections between culture and personality, and intercultural research methods. In these fields she has a considerable number of academic publications. Her work has been recognised by the American Psychology Association, the Journal for Research in Personality, the Society for Personality and Social Psychology, and other organisations.
