Tracey Thorn

Tracey Thorn, born in 1962 in Hertfordshire, was a singer/songwriter with Everything But The Girl, together with (her future partner) Ben Watt. Previously she had founded Marine Girls, an important group in English girl post-punk. She identifies with a kind of taciturn anti-rock icon and, despite her status (number ones in the US, dance hits, media ubiquity), Thorn considers herself an accidental pop star. She recently published her memoires, Bedsit Disco Queen (Virago UK, 2013).
