Tim Cowlishaw

Tim Cowlishaw is a British researcher, designer and technologist, now based in Barcelona. His research investigates the materiality and ecology of digital media: their infrastructure and environmental effects, and how they are linked to the practices of design and use of digital technology. He has previously worked in the BBC’s research and development department in London, where he investigated the potential of new technologies as creative tools. His own practice includes showing works and giving workshops and talks at Sonar+D, Eufonic Festival, MediaLab Matadero and the Museum of the Moving Image in New York, among others.
