Teresa Turiera-Puigbò
Journalist and scriptwriter
She has a master’s degree in Political Science and Information Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and a master’s degree in International Relations from the School of International and Public Affairs at the University of Columbia, New York. A journalist and scriptwriter, she is a founding member of the Culture and Conflict preforming and audiovisual arts collective. She has spent part of her professional career at Catalunya Ràdio where she worked as a news writer and editor, as a correspondent in Brussels and Madrid, and as a programme director. Between 1991 and 1997, she covered the Balkans conflict and, in The Hague, the first trials of the International Criminal Court for the former Yugoslavia. In 1997, she received a Fulbright scholarship and was also awarded the Salvador de Madariaga Prize for European Journalism. Her articles have been published in El País, Le Monde, and the Catalan daily Ara. She has also completed several courses in playwriting with Josep Maria Miró, Carles Batlle, Frédéric Sonntag, and Davide Carnevali, at L’Obrador workshop of the Sala Beckett theatre, Barcelona.
