Sergi Doria

Journalist and Professor

A journalist who gained his Doctorate in Communication Studies at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona with his thesis La voluntat cosmopolita (1999) and teacher of the theory and history of journalism at the International University of Catalonia and the Ramon Llull University. From 1985 to 1991 he was director of the Guía del Ocio, cultural chronicle writer for El País, El Periódico and l'Avui and he currently writes in the cultural supplement of the ABC newspaper, in Revista de Libros and Turia. He is the author of a report-book on the history of the neighbourhoods of Barcelona La Guineueta (1995) and in the year 2004 he published Imatges 1930. Barcelonins i moderns, a set of stories about daily life in the city following the 1929 Universal Exposition. Furthermore, he is co-editor together with Sergio Vila-Sanjuán of Walks through Literary Barcelona (2005), published within the framework of Books and Reading Year.
