Saul Williams

A poet, scriptwriter and actor who also decided to make his name as an MC.

His first prominent recording, Ocean Within, was in collaboration with KRS One and formed part of the soundtrack for Slam (1998), a feature film that won prizes at the Cannes and Sundance festivals in which he worked as co-scriptwriter and leading actor. In the year 2001 he released his first solo album, Amethyst Rock Star, a record that took him to participate in the Detroit Electronic Musical Festival as well as at various European concerts and festivals. On the EP Not In My Name(2003) it appears remixed by Coldcut and DJ Spooky.

His latest record takes his own name as its title and was released in 2004.
