He has taught at the Autonomous University of Madrid, been a postdoctoral researcher at Berkeley (California, USA) and worked in the synchrotron world since 1988. He was principal beamline scientist at the European Synchrotron in Grenoble (France) from 1988 to 2004. He has since worked at the Alba synchrotron, where he was Research Director up until 2011 and has been Associate Scientific Advisor since 2012.
