Robert S. Boynton

Writer and editor. After graduating with honours in philosophy and religion from Haverford University, he studied political sciences at Yale University. He has been an editor at Harper’s Magazine and a collaborator on the New Yorker.

His articles about race, culture, literary journalism, psychoanalysis and intellectual property have appeared in various publications like the The New York Times Magazine, The Nation, The Village Voice and Rolling Stone.

He is author of The New New Journalism: Conversations with America’s Best Nonfiction Writers on their Craft (2005), a book of interviews with journalists who have used groundbreaking techniques in investigative journalism. He is currently working on a history of the beginnings of literary journalism in the USA.
