Raúl Cimas
It would be impossible to conceive of a renewal of Spanish humour if it weren’t for the ravishing appearance in the collective imaginary of La Hora Chanante, with its combination of folk wisdom and pop culture delivered in jokes with a Cuenca accent. Raúl Cimas (Albacete, Spain, 1976), one of the brains behind it, is an actor, scriptwriter and illustrator. He studied Fine Arts at university, where he met his fellow comedians Joaquín Reyes and Ernesto Sevilla. Since then, he has created memorable gags and played characters in the sketches acted in the street. As well as featuring in programmes like Muchachada Nuí, series like Hotel Coconut and programmes such as Óxido Nitroso, he has made his way round the country as a monologist.
