Pol Vouillamoz
The wide-ranging career of the writer, translator, and playwright Pol Vouillamoz includes studies in Mathematics and Philosophy, after which he graduated in Dramaturgy at the Theatre Institute of Barcelona. He received the Ventura Ametller of Mataró Prize for his book of poetic prose, Proses del caient (Proses of Descent, Edicions 1984, Poetry Collection, 2023), which expresses his great love for tradition and language. Pol Vouillamoz is also editorial director of Edicions del Forclòs, and has translated into Catalan “Anna Livia Plurabelle”, Chapter Eight of Finnegan’s Wake (Escola Bloom, 2022) by James Joyce. He has lectured at the Università degli Studi di Trieste and at Trinity College Dublin. In the domain of theatre, he was awarded the 2018 Horta Youth Literature Prize for the play El nom de la mare (The Mother’s Name), after which he was playwright-in-residence at La Chartreuse-Centre National des Écritures du Spectacle, in France. He periodically writes articles for cultural magazines, including Núvol and Ciutat de les Lletres.
Pol Vouillamoz is part of the poetic residency programme Magmas within Radical Science project.
