Péter Krekó
Social psychologist and political scientist, Krekó is an associate professor at the Department of Social Psychology and the Research Laboratory for Disinformation and Artificial Intelligence at Eötvös Loránd University and director of the think tank Political Capital Institute. His research project focuses on social psychological processes and informational autocracies, regimes that can succeed by manipulating information. He is interested in disinformation, political polarization, conspiracy theories and malign foreign influence. He has published extensively on these topics in academic journals and the international press. In 2016 he was awarded a Fulbright fellowship to visit the Department of Central Eurasian Studies at Indiana University. He is a consortium leader of the Hungarian Digital Media Observatory consortium, an anti-disinformation center supported by the European Commission under the umbrella of the European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO).
