An environmentologist and technical adviser on Territory, Infrastructure and Environment at the Cerdà Institute, he previously held several positions in the Generalitat (Government) of Catalonia, for example General Director of Planning in the Department of the Environment, and Secretary for Territorial Planning in the Department of Territorial Policy and Public Works. He has also been a member of the governing bodies of several institutions, for example the Science and Technology Museum in Barcelona, the Environmental Information Studies Centre, the Waste Disposal Board, the Catalan Water Agency, the Catalan Land Institute and the Barcelona Metropolitan Transport Authority.
