Pau Miró
Born in Barcelona in 1974, Pau Miró holds a degree in Dramatic Arts from the Barcelona Senior College of Dramatic Arts – Theatre Institute (l’Escola Superior d’Art Dramàtic - Institut del Teatre) (1999). As a playwright, he has taken part in seminars at Sala Beckett taught by Carles Batlle, Sergi Belbel, Xavier Albertí, Sanchis Sinisterra, Martin Crimp, Juan Mayorga and Javier Daulte. He is the founder of the theatre company Menudos, made up of past pupils from the Theatre Institute. He has also collaborated on television scripts for TV3, Antena3 and TVE. His major works include: Girafes, as author and director (Búfals, Lleons Girafes, critic’s prize for best script 2008-2009), Los persas. Réquiem por un soldado (2007, play-writing in conjunction with Calixto Bieito), Bales i ombres (2006, nominated for the Butaca awards in the best script category), and Plou a Barcelona (Rain in Barcelona), a text which has been translated into Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese, Polish and English and premiered, among other venues, in the Piccolo Theatre of Milan.
