Oyirum
Anticapacitist activist and biomedical scientist
Oyirum is twenty-five years old and a graduate in Biomedical Sciences, working full-time as a proudly “crippled”, fat, bisexual woman and, part-time, as an activist in the social networks, drawing attention to struggles like the anticapacitist battle in digital space, where she also explores her interceptions with feminism, the LGBT collective, and the body positive movement from the standpoint she has taken from her physical disability. With “activism and girl talk” as one of her slogans, she has appeared in programmes like “First Dates” and regularly performs as a monologist with Riot Comedy Fem. She believes that the anticapacitist struggle has saved her life, but that her women friends and recreation save her every day from the oppressions she suffers and from which she has not yet been able to escape.
