Óscar Abril

Cultural producer.

Barcelona, 1966

He is an art historian specialised in contemporary art. He has worked in the fields of curatorship, criticism, running workshops, seminars, radio and television. He has developed projects basically in the territories of performance (he was a founding member of Club7, the first association for promoting action art in our country), sound art (co-director of the Festival Zeppelín until 2002) and the art of new media. Since 1998, he has been responsible for exhibitions at Sónar. Between 2005 and 2006, with the collective Elastico he co-directed the project on free culture and intellectual property, CopyFight. Currently he focuses his research around the transformations in the sphere of production of contemporary pop music.
