Oriol Llopis

The country’s ultimate kamikaze rock critic was born in Barcelona but declines to specify in which year. He worked for most of the music magazines in the seventies and eighties, from Rock Espezial to Ruta 66, wrote scripts for the TV programme La Edad de Oro, raved about Burning, was a bit of a delinquent and took loads of drugs. His gonzo articles are all about rock ’n’ roll and himself, which earned him the nickname Mr. Primera Persona (Mr First Person). Llopis has recently published his memoirs, La magnitud del desastre, for 66rpm Edicions.
