Nzinga Biegueng Mboup
Nzinga Mboup is an architect and Senegalese-Cameroonian curator based in Dakar. She studied at the University of Pretoria, South Africa, and has a master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Westminster in London. In 2018 she formed Worofila, a collective of architects and engineers specialized in bioclimatic design and construction that promotes the use of local techniques and materials. Its outstanding projects include Sendou house, Ngor house and the Goethe-Institut in Dakar. At the same time, she has carried out research projects such as Dakarmorphose, reflecting on the evolution of Lebu villages and the urban heritage of Dakar; and Habiter Dakar, focussing on urban evolution and housing issues. She was involved as a producer in the film Bunt BAN, presented at the 2023 Venice Architecture Biennale, and other projects linked to architecture in Senegal. Since 2022 she has also been a researcher at the African Futures Institute and, a year later, she began a collaboration as a curator with the Canadian Center for Architecture. She will soon take part in the international residency program of the CCCB, thanks to a collaboration with Raw Material Company, from Senegal.
