Mihaela Mihai

Personal Chair of Political Theory at the University of Edinburgh, her research interests are the politics of memory and social injustice, the connections between art, architecture, and political theory, social epistemology, and political emotions, including eco-emotions. She heads the project “Environmental Emotions: Theory, Testimony, Politics”, an interdisciplinary Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) network that explores the imaginaries and political effects associated with the climate emergency. In this latter regard, she has published several articles about ecological grief, blame, and responsibility. Her other publications include the monographs Political Memory and the Aesthetics of Care: The Art of Complicity and Resistance (Stanford University Press, 2022) and Negative Emotions and Transitional Justice (Columbia University Press 2016). She has also coedited several books on violence, memory, the politics of forgiveness, and democratic theory.
