Me siento extraña
The Me siento extraña collective was set up by Maia Jenkinson (ES) and Verushka Sirit (VE) in 2021. It is a space for celebratory encounters, artistic exploration and expression of identity that gives a voice to women, lesbians, bisexuals, non-binary people, trans people, dissenting identities, cyborgs and othernesses (FLINTA*).
MSE came into being in response to the lack of cultural spaces and platforms for this part of the group, with the aim of creating community. They began to organize weekly events on Monday afternoons, offering a showcase for projects, art, music, poetry and creation, and disseminating topics of interest. This led to the idea of occupying various other spaces, collaborating with festivals, other collectives and curators, at night too, closer to a club environment with a varied programme that always included people from the group and highlighting the importance of creating safer spaces. This then led to the idea of creating an awareness team called Safe Amorx, which is a joint research project to continue improving the spaces inhabited by the group.
