Mark Lilla

A historian of ideas, Professor of the Humanities at Columbia University, and a regular contributor to the New York Review of Books, the New Republic, the New York Times, Letras Libres and other publications, he has also written the books The Reckless Mind: Intellectuals in Politics (New York Review of Books, 2001), published in Spanish as Pensadores Temerarios: Los intelectuales en la politica (Debate, 2004); and The Stillborn God: Religion, Politics and the Modern West (Knopf, 2007), published in Spanish as El Dios que no nació (Debate, 2010), inter alia. He is currently writing a book on ignorance and happiness.
