María de los Santos García Felguera

Lecturer in Art History and History of Photography at the Pompeu Fabra University.

Lecturer in Art History and History of Photography at the Pompeu Fabra University and member of the University Institute of Culture Research Group, her main research interests are reception of the work of art and nineteenth-century photography and painting. She was curator of the exhibition La imatge romàntica d’España (The Romantic Image of Spain, 1981, 1982) and has published several books of criticism of art, painting and photography including La pintura tras el trauma de la Guerra Civil (Painting after the Trauma of the Civil War, Carroggio, 2002), Los estudios de Historia del Arte (Studies in History of Art, Sociedad Estatal de Conmemoraciones Culturales, 2008) and Historia general de la Fotografía (General History of Photography, 2006, 2009). She is a member of the “Espais de l'oci a la Barcelona de 1900” (Leisure Spaces in the Barcelona of 1900) research group at the University of Barcelona and has organised courses involving collaboration between the university and museums, including the Prado Museum (Madrid) and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum (Madrid).
