Manolo García

Manolo García could be introduced with just two words: Manolo García. We could also add some other names, like those of his bands: Los Rápidos, Los Burros, El Último de la Fila. Born in Barcelona in 1955, he is one of the few musicians to have survived decades and decades of across-the-board, radio formula and karaoke mass hits without for a second compromising his artistic integrity. His is a commitment that allowed him to flirt, when it was not well looked upon, with Arabic, flamenco and Mediterranean rhythms. This has always allowed him to write lyrics filled with folkloric lyricism and surrealist outbursts, from declarations of love to seafaring metaphors, which are still sung in bars today.
