Writer, author of L’ombre d’un homme qui marche au soleil: Réflexions sur Albert Camus (The Shadow of a Man Who Walked in the Sun: Reflections on Albert Camus, Chèvre-Feuille Étoilée, 2004)
After studying French, she worked as a French teacher in Algeria. She is presently educational adviser to the Algerian Education Department. In 1996 she made her debut as a writer with the novel Au commencement était la mer (Éditions Marsa) and has published regularly ever since, becoming one of the authors of reference in present-day Algerian literature. Her most recent works are Pierre, sang, papier ou cendre (Éditions de L'Aube, 2008) and L'Une et l'autre (Éditions de l'Aube, 2009). She has also published a book on Albert Camus, L’ombre d’un homme qui marche au soleil: Réflexions sur Albert Camus (Chèvre-feuille Étoilée, 2004). Deeply involved with the social and cultural realities of her country, she is founding president of the women’s association “Paroles et écriture” and was also founder of the publishing house Chèvre-feuille Étoilée, where she is director of the collection “Les chants de Nidaba”.
