Luis Costa

Journalist and DJ

Born in Barcelona in 1972, Costa is the author of the definitive book on the bacalao (a kind of techno-music) phenomenon, ¡Bacalao! Historia oral de la música de baile en Valencia, 1980-1995 (Bacalao! An Oral History of Dance Music in Valencia, 1980-1995) (Contra, 2016), which includes the views of Simó, Dixkontrol and Albi, among many others. A journalist and DJ, he has been working with the pioneering electronic music magazine Disco 2000 since 1994. Since 2009 he has been press chief for Razzmatazz Clubs, for which he is also resident DJ in Lolita. He has DJ’ed at several Sónar festivals and FIB Heineken, among others. As a journalist, is a regular columnist for publications including the Cultura/s section of La Vanguardia and Rockdelux.
