Negro limbo (Black Limbo) is the second documentary by Cádiz-born Lorenzo Benítez. His first feature film Madres invisibles (Invisible Mothers, 2016) premiered at Documenta Madrid, was selected for around twenty festivals and broadcast on television in Switzerland, Austria, Ireland and Mexico. He’s currently working on his next film, Un lugar privilegiado, directed together with José Ligero, about the last traditional fishermen of Casería de Ossio in San Fernando (Cádiz), where the films La leyenda del tiempo (The Legend of Time) and Entre dos aguas (Between Two Waters), by Isaki Lacuesta, were shot. He’s also the co-screenwriter of El último testigo (The Last Witness), a Spanish-Chilean co-production, directed by Francesc Relea, about Luis Poirot, photographer to President Salvador Allende.
