Laura Rius Aran

Filmmaker

Laura Rius Aran graduated in Audiovisual Communication at Pompeu Fabra University, and her diploma film Les Amigues de l'Àgata (co-directed with Laia Alabart, Alba Cros and Marta Verheyen), was nominated for the Gaudí Awards and premiered in commercial cinemas.

Later on, she graduated in the Editing department at La Fémis (Paris, France). There, together with Carlos Solano, she co-directed her first medium-length documentary, Millions (and Millions) of Memories. Her solo debut was with Les Filles du Feu, in the same format. Premiered at the San Sebastian Festival, it was screened at various festivals and won an award at La Cabina. 

She currently combines her work as an editor with teaching and the development of her next projects as a director.
