Junot Díaz
Born in Santo Domingo in 1968, this Dominican novelist writes in English, mixing his roots (and influences, from B movies and comics to library books) with his current fate as a renowned writer living in the United States. Ten years after his first book of short stories, he shot to fame with The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao (published in 2007 and translated into Spanish by Mondadori), which earned him the Pulitzer Prize. He has just published his second book of short stories, This Is How You Lose Her.
