José María Sánchez de León

A Serra Húnter lecturer in Philosophy at the University of Barcelona and specialist in modern philosophy. His research explores 17th-century continental rationalism, focusing on figures such as Descartes, Spinoza, and Leibniz, as well as topics related to Enlightenment philosophy and German idealism. Sánchez de León has a PhD from the University of Heidelberg, and has been a postdoctoral fellow with the Martin Buber Society of Fellows, and at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and the Fritz Thyssen Foundation. Among his publications are Zeichen und Subjekt im logischen Diskurs Hegels (Felix Meiner, 2013), "Index verum sui et falsi: Certidumbre y duda escéptica en Spinoza" (Ideas y Valores, 2023) or "The Deaths of the Heavens. Crescas and Spinoza on the Uniformity of the World" (Anales del Seminario de Historia de la Filosofía, 2024).
