Jordi Pigem

Science phylosopher and writer

Jordi Pigem (Barcelona, 1964) is Doctor in Phylosophy by the University of Barcelona. From 1998 to 2003 was professor and coordinator of the Area of Phylosiphy of the Masters in Holistic Science of the Schumacher College in Dartington (Plymouth University, England). He has been professor in residence at the University of Barcelona and lectured in several universities, including Columbia and Oxford. Was awarded the Phylosophy Prize of the Institut d'Estudis Catalans in 1999. Was coordinator of the ecology magazine Integral and editor of the book Nueva Conciencia (Integral Ed., 1991). Has written La odisea de Occidente (Kairós, 1994) and El pensament de Raimon Panikkar (Institut d'Estudis Catalans, 2007), and writes regularly for newspapers and magazines in Spanish, Catalan and English.
