Jordi Latorre
Artist
Jordi Latorre is a visual artist who takes a transversal approach to experimenting with audiovisuals. He views the moving image and screens as living physical elements in permanent connection with the environment. His creations feed the worlds of performing arts and audiovisual installation, establishing live dialogues with performance, dance and music and generating mysterious spaces where the distances between body and image dissolve.
After studying film and making the documentary La verdadera lucha es con el duende, his encounter with Flamenco pushed him to broaden his audiovisual perception beyond the bounds of the screen. This led him to make Bordes y heridas del duende – a stage performance fusing contemporary Flamenco and live audiovisuals, premiered in 2024 at the Fira Mediterrània in Manresa and created through artistic residencies at Fabra i Coats (Barcelona) and La Aceitera (Seville) – an expression of the endless path of his research in audiovisuals as another form of Flamenco art. He is currently also researching other fields within performance as part of different projects, including the Bivac Festival 2024 at the CCCB (Barcelona).
