Jordi Boixader
With studies in Economics, Political Science, and Administration from the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF), he holds an Advanced Studies Diploma in Human Geography from the University of Barcelona (UB) and has an Official master’s degree in Territorial and Urban Studies from the Public Administration School of Catalonia (EAPC).
He has twenty years of experience in local economic development and is presently head of the Innovation in Economic Development Section of the Diputació de Barcelona (Provincial Council of Barcelona). His areas of specialisation include strategic urban and territorial planning, local innovation policies, and landscape economics.
Since 2010 he has taught and worked with the Economic and Business Studies programme at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC), and he also teaches in master’s and postgraduate courses and others in Local Development.
Among his recent articles are “La sostenibilidad ambiental en los planes estratégicos territoriales. 35 años de evolución” (Environmental Sustainability in Strategic Territorial Planning: 35 Years of Evolution), “L’automobilisme esportiu: la descoberta dels paisatges de la carretera” (Sports Motoring: The Discovery of Road Landscapes), and his contribution to the jointly authored Turismo. Paisaje. Futuro. Hacia una transición turística en Canarias (Tourism, Landscape, Future: Towards a Tourist Transition in the Canary Islands).
He is a member of the editorial board of Erol, the Cultural Review of Berguedà, and a board member of the Catalan Society for Territorial Planning (SCOT).
