Joan Morey

Art degree and Diploma of Advanced Studies, Barcelona University. His artistic work principally explores the language of performance, though developed in various mediums and supports (from live actions and their audiovisual recording to sound works, video, installation and graphic work). Basing his projects on a series of psychological, historical and social conditions, Morey generates events (with actors or performers), productions (theatre or film), or specific interventions (based on the venue or context of the work) that he uses to construct situations in which one or more performers submit to a rigid system of instructions or rules (choreographies, patterns of interpretation, motor constraints and other disciplinary resources). These rules are also applied to the role that the audience plays in his projects.
