Jeongmoon Choi

BA from the College of Fine Arts of Sungshin University (South Korea, 1988), MA in Fine Arts (1990) and assistant lecturer at Sungshin University (1994-1995). In 1995 she moved to Germany, where she continued her art studies in Kassel, graduating in 2001. What makes her oeuvre remarkable is the relation between material and effect that is manifested in works such as Drawing in Space (2015).

Her body of work has been shown at galleries and institutions the world over. Her shows include “Rapid Rabbit – Beschleunigte Bildwelten” (Frise Künstlerhaus, Hamburg, 2011) and “Explorer” (Karst Project, Plymouth, 2013). She has taken part in the group shows “The 14 Independents” (National Museum of Modern Art, Kwachun, South Korea, 1988); “Impulse – Will” (Chung Nam Gallery, Seoul, 1989); “Art Exhibition in Arirang Street” (Seoul Olympic Park, 1989); “Anonymous Drawings #9” (Kunstraum Kreuzberg / Bethanien, Berlin, 2012) and “Red Never Follows” (Saatchi Gallery, London, 2013).
