Jaume Nualart Vilaplana

Degree in science (chemistry) and freeware programmer. Active member of social movements in Barcelona since 2000 (founder of indymedia Barcelona,, From 1999 to 2004 he worked as a secondary school teacher in the public sector, teaching chemistry and physics and introducing free collaboration tools into the departments where he worked. Between 2008 and 2009, he worked as a researcher at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute (Linz, Austria) developing visualisation tools for the Ars Electronica archive.

He has worked as a freeware developer on a number of European projects (Transcultural Mapping, Dash, etc.) and artistic interships (LabFactory Vienna 2007) in a number of countries: Latvia, Finland, Germany, Slovenia, Austria, Kenya, etc.

He loves technologies, especially the public use of information networks. He is currently studying a doctorate programme at the Barcelona Autonomous University.
