Jaume Nualart Vilaplana

Degree in science (chemistry) and freeware programmer. Active member of social movements in Barcelona since 2000 (founder of indymedia Barcelona, riereta.net, giss.tv). From 1999 to 2004 he worked as a secondary school teacher in the public sector, teaching chemistry and physics and introducing free collaboration tools into the departments where he worked. Between 2008 and 2009, he worked as a researcher at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute (Linz, Austria) developing visualisation tools for the Ars Electronica archive.

He has worked as a freeware developer on a number of European projects (Transcultural Mapping, Dash, etc.) and artistic interships (LabFactory Vienna 2007) in a number of countries: Latvia, Finland, Germany, Slovenia, Austria, Kenya, etc.

He loves technologies, especially the public use of information networks. He is currently studying a doctorate programme at the Barcelona Autonomous University.
