Janet Mérida

Janet Mérida is a sex worker and the spokesperson for Putas Libertarias and Putas Indignadas, key collectives in defence of causes related to this societal group. For decades Mérida has fought for the rights of sex workers, denouncing the forms of violence affecting them and doing media campaigns and organising encounters in favour of their destigmatisation. She has written the epilogue of the book I tenia cor. Treball sexual, violències i resistències, by Livia Motterle (Bellaterra Edicions, 2023).
