Gustavo Deco

Gustavo Deco is an ICREA (Catalan Institute for Research and Advanced Studies) professor with a chair at the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) where he heads the Computational Neuroscience (CNS) research group and also the Center for Brain and Cognition (CBC). He has obtained the Advanced Grant from the European Research Council (ERC) and, as a scientist of international repute, he participates in the European Commission’s flagship Human Brain Project (HBP). The main aim of his research is to provide a precise account of the computational principles underlying brain functions in health and also in cases of brain disease.
