Gosia Kuciewicz

A Warsaw-based architect and artist who is well known for her innovative approach to architecture and urbanism, she studied Architecture in Warsaw, Montpellier (France), and Tampere (Finland). Her career includes experience at the Berlage Institute in Amsterdam and active participation in the European Architecture Students Assembly (EASA) workshops from 1995 to 2006. In 2001, Gosia Kuciewicz and Simone De Iacobis co-founded the design collective CENTRALA, which is devoted to exploring and revitalising Poland’s architectural and urban heritage through research-based projects. Their work often emphasises the integration of natural phenomena into architectural design. Kuciewicz has been involved in several outstanding projects, including “Lifting the Curtain: Central European Architectural Networks”, an event included in the programme of the 14th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia in 2014. She also contributed to the “Oskar Hansen: Open Form” exhibitions at the MACBA in Barcelona, and the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art in Porto in 2015. Her commitment to preserving and revitalising architectural heritage is evident in her research and initiatives, among them the “Warsaw Critical Tourism Project”, which she has led since 2012. This project encompasses guided tours, workshops, publications, and lectures aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of Warsaw’s urban landscape. Gosia Kuciewicz’s work has been recognised with multiple awards and distinctions.
