Friedrich von Borries
Architect and co- curator of the project Shrinking Cities at the Bauhaus from Dessau.
Friedrich von Borries is an architect and has a doctorate from the Technical University (TU) of Karlsruhe, Germany. He has taught Architecture and Urban Design at the TU of Berlin and, from 2002 - 2005, worked as a researcher and giving lectures at the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation. This year he started to work as a member of the research team of ETH Zurich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology). He has taken part in a number of exhibitions, among them "Shrinking Cities" in the Architecture Biennial of Rotterdam and in Archilab 2004.
Notable among his publications are Who's Afraid of Niketown? Nike-Urbanism, Branding and the City of Tomorrow (Episode Publishers, 2005) and the anthology Space Time Play. Computer Games, Architecture and Urbanism: The Next Level (Birkhäuser Space), which is scheduled to be published in autumn 2007.
