Fadi Bardawil

Professor of Global Studies, of Contemporary Arab Cultures and of French and Francophone Studies in the Department of Asian Studies at Duke University (North Carolina). His research, focused on Arab countries and the Middle East, delves into the articulations of cultural production and political practice, as well as condensing three intellectual traditions: political anthropology, critical theory, and intellectual history. He is currently completing In Marxism's Wake: The Disenchantment of Levatine Intellectuals, a book that examines the ebb and flow of Marxist thought and practice through the trajectories of a generation of intellectuals born around 1940.
