Fabiola Mancinelli
Fabiola Mancinelli, who holds a PhD in Social Anthropology, is a tenured lecturer in Anthropology of Tourism at the University of Barcelona. Her areas of research include tourism and travel culture, the processes of defining and assigning heritage values, and intersections of modes of mobility and the digital economy. She has carried out ethnographic research as a guide travelling with international tourists in Europe, and also with the Zafimaniry people of Madagascar, and with digital nomads in Thailand and Spain. She is currently a coordinator of the Remotework project on return migrations and digital nomadism in Europe, as well as participating in the Horizon Europe INCA project on the impact of large digital platforms on labour relations. She is a member of the Board of Directors of EASA (European Association of Social Anthropologists).
