Dani El Rojo

Dani el Rojo (Barcelona, 1962) was known as The Millionaire. In the eighties and nineties, he was, basically, a bank robber (he held up his first at the tender age of 16). He spent years in and out of the Modelo prison, became addicted to heroin and cocaine, and tested positive for HIV. When he emerged from rehab, he started work as a bodyguard for celebrities, rock musicians and artists. His eventful life as a dandy rogue is splendidly recounted (in the first person) in the volumes Mi vida en juego, Confesiones de un gánster de Barcelona and El gran golpe del gánster de Barcelona, all published by Ediciones B and written in conjunction with journalist Lluc Oliveras.
