Corine Pelluchon

A philosopher and professor of Philosophy at the Université Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée (UPEM), Corine Pelluchon specialises in political philosophy and applied ethics, especially the areas of bioethics, environmental philosophy, and the politics of animalism. She is author of books including Les Nourritures. Philosophie du corps politique (Seuil, 2015; in English, Nourishment: A Philosophy of the Political Body) and Manifeste animaliste: politiser la cause animale (in Catalan, Manifest animalista: polititzar la causa animal, Rosa dels Vents, 2018; also published in Spanish by Reservoir Books, 2018), a key work in the field. Upholding the Enlightenment legacy from the standpoint of environmentalism, she has recently published Les Lumières à l'âge du vivant (in Spanish, Ecología como nueva ilustración (Herder, 2022), and also Éthique de la consideration (in Spanish, Ética de la consideración (Herder, 2024), which calls for an ethics of virtue.
