Clara Gassull Quer

Visual artist who combines practice and artistic mediation

Clara Gassull Quer's artistic practice starts from contemplation, research and action to work on the unnoticed or unexpected, the tiny or infinite to grasp the inexplicable and the wonderful of what is observed or experienced. She usually works through photography with and without a camera with a special interest in the essence of creating an image, light. It also has materializations that go through drawing, sculpture, installation, video and other experimental techniques. Lately in his work he has established links with other areas such as geology and archaeology.

This artistic approach is also developed in the field of mediation, where he works independently in several educational-artistic projects linked to museums, spaces of art, festivals, schools, institutes and other centers. She coordinates the mediation project of Can Manyé, Alella's contemporary art and creation space, designing and carrying out the educational proposals related to the exhibitions and aimed at schools and institutes. She is co-founder of LaBabuch (Mérigny, France), a cultural space where meetings, workshops and residencies take place around art and especially photography. Graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona (2017) and in Photography from the Institute of Photographic Studies of Catalonia (2017).
