Carlos Castillo
Researcher on algorithmic fairness and crisis informatics at the Pompeu Fabra University
A lecturer and ICREA researcher, Carlos Castillo is head of the Web Science and Social Computing Research Group at the Pompeu Fabra University. A specialist in internet data mining, their main areas of interest are crisis computing, algorithmic justice, quality and credibility of the social media, and online adversarial research. They have published more than 110 articles with considerable scientific impact in magazines and for international congresses, as well as several technical monographs and the book Big Crisis Data (Cambridge University Press, 2016). They are presently coordinator of the European FINDHR project on Fairness and Intersectional Non-Discrimination in Human Recommendation.
