Carlos Andrés Gómez

Actor and poet. He has received numerous awards for his urban poetry. He was the winner of the Toronto International Poetry Slam in 2006 and was twice finalist of the national slam poetry championship, the first time as a member of the legendary Nuyorican Poets Café Slam Team and the second with the NYC/louderARTS Slam Team. He also appeared in the sixth season of the HBO documentary "Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry", dedicated to urban poetry.

As an actor, he has worked in the film ‘Inside Man' by Spike Lee, with Denzel Washington, Jodie Foster and Clive Owen. His first recording, Carlos Andrés Gómez: Live from New York, was unanimously chosen by the LA Music Award for Spoken Word as Album of the Year.
